We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to support our finance operations in Brazil. This role is responsible for daily accounting activities, tax compliance, reconciliations, and financial closings in accordance with Brazilian GAAP (BR GAAP) and IFRS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.

Accountant

Key responsibilities

  • Reconcile all balance sheet and P&L accounts on a daily basis
  • Calculate taxes and prepare Brazilian tax returns, ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations
  • Ensure compliance with all Brazilian tax, accounting, and statutory requirements
  • Prepare, maintain, and reconcile local accounting books in SAP
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with BR GAAP
  •  Ensure timely preparation of financial statements as per local requirements
  • Support payroll reconciliation activities
  • Support accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and postings
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations

Required qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Active CRC registration (Brazil)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Solid experience in Brazilian tax calculation and tax return filings
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian GAAP (BR GAAP) and IFRS
  • Experience with month-end and year-end closings
  • Working knowledge of SAP is highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and committed to high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • English proficiency is a plus
